Priscilla Delgado Hermiller
Digital Content Librarian I
Priscilla was born and raised in Texas and has been passionate about books and reading all her life. She began volunteering at her local public library at age 12 and worked at her university library in college and graduate school. Priscilla graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, then went on to earn a Master's in Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2022, Priscilla earned a PhD in Literacy from St. John's University. Before joining TeachingBooks, she spent ten years working in public education, first as a bilingual teacher then as a school librarian. As a Digital Content Librarian with TeachingBooks, Priscilla enjoys drawing on her background knowledge to support and share meaningful resources for students, teachers, and librarians. She served on the 2021 Pura Belpre Award Selection Committee, has served on various regional and state reading list committees, and is an active member of the Texas Library Association. She has been a huge Elvis Presley fan since she was a little girl, and she has a "Spotlight on Elvis" segment on The Mop Tops and the King radio show, which can be heard weekly across the U.S. and internationally. In her downtime, Priscilla loves spending time with her family, listening to oldies and Tejano music, watching football, and, of course, curling up with a good book.
